Data Assistant

The Data Assistant is responsible for managing and organizing data related to production, inventory, and shipping operations within the apparel manufacturing process. This role involves data entry, analysis, and reporting to support the department’s daily activities and ensure compliance with company policies and international trade reulations. The Data Assistant works closely with the Business Analyst and Data Administrator as well as the Production and Operations teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of all duty-related activities.

In this role, you are responsible for:

  • Accurately input, update, and maintain data related to shipments, production batches, duty charges, and inventory in the company’s database.
  • Ensure all data is accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with relevant regulations and company standards.
  • Prepare and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on duty fees, shipment statuses, and production outputs.
  • Assist in analyzing data trends to identify discrepancies or opportunities for process improvement.
  • Review and process import/export documentation, ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete and compliant with trade regulations.
  • Track and maintain records of duty payments, shipping invoices, and customs declarations.
  • Work closely with the Production and Operations teams to gather data and ensure timely submission of reports.
  • Communicate with external vendors and customs agents to resolve data or documentation discrepancies.
  • Support audits by providing necessary data and documentation to compliance teams.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning duty-related documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of duty charges and assist with cost calculations and budgeting.

Qualifications:

  • Education (Bachelors)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clean and dive into data to find insights
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office product suite
  • Experience managing master data database
